Notice of Wicklow League AGM

The deferred AGM of the Wicklow & District Football League will take place at Rathnew AFC Clubhouse on Monday 28 November 2022 at 7.30pm. All Clubs affiliated to the League must have a representative at this AGM.

The main requirements of the AGM will be to publish the Secretaries report, provide the Treasurers report including the statement of accounts and balance sheet for 2021/22 Season. Additionally we would look to re-elect the current committee and look for volunteers prepared to assist/work on the committee. To assist with this later process we would ask clubs to nominate persons to the League Sec. John Shea in advance of the meeting. It is important that anybody put forward must be prepared to undertake a role that will assist with the running of the League and ease the burden on existing committee.

Due to the short time frame between calling the meeting and the AGM, any rule change motions will be dealt with at an EGM in either December or January. The date been subject to seemed importance of any proposed change.

We would like to apologise for lateness of AGM. This was predominantly affected by delay in accessing and transferring League investment account. This required several visits to the bank and numerous replacement mandates. The good news is that the League have turned the corner on the debacle it faced and exacerbated by Covid. We have now returned to profit with further good news which will be shared on the night.

We would also ask those clubs with outstanding balances for last season to clear them. To assist with this we will resend statements out this week. Now that the U18 Division registration has been completed we will be in a position to advise all clubs their team and player registration liabilities for the current season.

2021/22 League Awards Night

The League Sec. John Shea was unable to obtain a suitable night for this in the current year. However it is our intention to hold this in Jan/Feb of next year subject to John agreeing a date with the hotel. This will be a some what reduced event which will be focused solely on League winners.

It is the intention of the League AGM and the Tommy Earls awards for the 2022/23 Season will return to their normal dates and formats.

We the League Executive would like to thank all clubs, officials and players for their assistance last season, especially given Covid restrictions. Hopefully this season brings a sense of normality.

Thank You – Wicklow & District Football League Executive.
